In the light of a persistent private sector debt overhang, many CESEE countries seek to reform their restructuring frameworks, and aim to attract international expertise and investors. There is a need for greater transparency and dissemination of such national reforms.
On these pages we will make published assessments of the NPL burden and private sector debt distress more widely accessible. We also list financial indicators and transactions in NPL portfolios, based on our semi-annual NPL Monitor. We reproduce publicly stated national reform commitments and summarize ongoing support by the international institutions. All material from country workshops held under the NPL Initiative and other public events are listed as well.
Five countries collaborate closely with the Vienna Initiative institutions under this workstream: Albania, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro and Serbia. For other countries material will be listed as it becomes available to us.
Where assessments and presentations of private sector market participants are referenced this does not reflect views of the Vienna Initiative, or of its participating institutions. Please send additional material or updates to NPL@ebrd.com.
